Description
A spicy and crispy chicken burger, the Zinger Burger features a crunchy chicken fillet, fresh lettuce, and creamy mayo, all sandwiched between a soft burger bun.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornflour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Oil for deep frying
- 4 burger buns
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 4 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp hot sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Flatten the chicken breasts slightly and marinate in buttermilk, paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- In a bowl, mix flour, cornflour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
- Heat oil in a deep pan for frying.
- Coat marinated chicken in the flour mixture, pressing to adhere.
- Fry chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
- Lightly toast burger buns.
- Spread mayonnaise (mixed with hot sauce if using) on buns.
- Place fried chicken on bottom bun, top with shredded lettuce, and cover with top bun.
- Serve hot with fries or a drink.
Notes
- For extra crunch, double coat the chicken by dipping it back into buttermilk and then flour again.
- Adjust spice levels by increasing or decreasing cayenne pepper.
- You can add cheese or pickles for variation.
