Description

A spicy and crispy chicken burger, the Zinger Burger features a crunchy chicken fillet, fresh lettuce, and creamy mayo, all sandwiched between a soft burger bun.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornflour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Oil for deep frying
  • 4 burger buns
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp hot sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Flatten the chicken breasts slightly and marinate in buttermilk, paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cornflour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan for frying.
  4. Coat marinated chicken in the flour mixture, pressing to adhere.
  5. Fry chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Lightly toast burger buns.
  7. Spread mayonnaise (mixed with hot sauce if using) on buns.
  8. Place fried chicken on bottom bun, top with shredded lettuce, and cover with top bun.
  9. Serve hot with fries or a drink.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, double coat the chicken by dipping it back into buttermilk and then flour again.
  • Adjust spice levels by increasing or decreasing cayenne pepper.
  • You can add cheese or pickles for variation.
