Description
A fun, layered banana pudding that’s easy to assemble and perfect for parties—creamy pudding, ripe bananas, and crunchy wafers stacked to walk through the crowd!
Ingredients
- 4 cups vanilla pudding (homemade or from 2 (3.4 oz) instant pudding mixes + 3½ cups milk)
- 4–5 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 (12 oz) box vanilla wafer cookies
- 2 cups whipped cream (or whipped topping)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: fresh banana slices and crushed wafers for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together vanilla pudding and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Fold in 1 cup of whipped cream gently.
- Slice bananas into 1/4‑inch rounds.
- In a trifle bowl or clear dish, layer a third of vanilla wafers on bottom.
- Top wafers with a layer of banana slices.
- Spread a layer of pudding mixture over bananas.
- Repeat layers twice (wafers, bananas, pudding) ending with pudding layer.
- Spread remaining whipped cream on top.
- Chill for at least 2 hours (or overnight) to set and let flavors meld.
- Before serving, garnish with fresh banana slices and crushed wafers along top edges.
Notes
- Use slightly underripe bananas—they hold shape better and won’t brown quickly.
- For extra creaminess, substitute 1 cup pudding mixture with mascarpone or cream cheese blend.
- To prep ahead, assemble the day before and garnish just before serving.
- Leftovers keep in fridge, covered, up to 3 days.
