Description
This honey butter toast dessert is rich, golden, and incredibly satisfying. It’s made with thick-cut bread that’s crispy on the outside and soft inside, coated in a sweet honey-butter glaze, and often finished with toppings like ice cream, fruits, or whipped cream. A perfect blend of sweet, buttery, and crunchy that’s gone viral for a reason!
Ingredients
-
2 thick slices of brioche or milk bread (about 1 to 1.5 inches thick)
-
3 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
-
1 1/2 tablespoons honey (plus more for drizzling)
-
1 tablespoon sugar (optional, for extra crunch)
-
Vanilla ice cream (for topping)
-
Fresh fruit (like strawberries or bananas, optional)
-
Whipped cream (optional)
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with honey (and sugar if using) until well combined.
-
Cut each bread slice into a 3×3 grid, but don’t cut all the way through—leave the bottom intact so the cube shape holds.
-
Spread the honey butter mixture generously over the top and into the cuts of the bread.
-
Place the bread slices on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
-
Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the tops are golden and crispy.
-
Remove from the oven and let cool for 1–2 minutes.
-
Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a drizzle of honey, and fresh fruit or whipped cream if desired.
-
Serve immediately and enjoy while warm!
Notes
-
You can substitute brioche with any thick, soft bread, like Texas toast.
-
Add a pinch of cinnamon or a drop of vanilla extract to the butter mix for extra flavor.
-
Toast can also be made in an air fryer at 350°F for 5–6 minutes.
