Description

Delightfully sweet and creamy Valentine’s Oreo Truffles made with golden Oreo cookies, cream cheese, and a smooth vanilla candy coating, perfect for gifting or enjoying as a festive treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Base

  • 36-42 golden Oreo cookies
  • 6 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 20 drops pink food coloring (divided, adjust to color preference)

Candy Coating & Decoration

  • 16 ounces vanilla candy coating
  • Favorite Valentine sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare Oreo Crumbs: Place 36 Oreo cookies in a food processor or sealed plastic bag and crush into fine crumbs.
  2. Mix Truffle Base: Transfer Oreo crumbs to a mixer or keep in the food processor, then add softened cream cheese and 10 drops of pink food coloring. Mix thoroughly until the mixture can hold a shape.
  3. Form Truffle Balls: Using a small ice cream scoop, melon baller, rounded teaspoon, or candy scoop, portion out the mixture. Roll between your palms to form smooth, firm balls about 1 1/4 inch in diameter.
  4. Chill Truffles: Place formed balls on a parchment-lined cookie sheet and freeze while you prepare the coating, about 10-15 minutes.
  5. Melt Candy Coating: Break vanilla candy coating into pieces and melt in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring after each until fully melted and smooth, about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Dip Truffles: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each truffle into the melted coating, tapping off excess by dragging against the bowl’s lip.
  7. Decorate: Place coated truffles back on parchment paper and immediately sprinkle with Valentine-themed sprinkles before coating sets.
  8. Repeat: Continue dipping and decorating remaining truffles until all are coated.
  9. Set Coating: Refrigerate the finished truffles for at least 15 minutes to allow the coating to fully set.
  10. Serve: Bring truffles to room temperature before serving for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use golden Oreos to give a light color and unique flavor different from traditional chocolate Oreos.
  • Adjust pink food coloring amount to achieve your desired shade for the truffle base.
  • If mixture is too soft to roll, add additional crushed Oreos a little at a time.
  • Ensure cream cheese is fully softened for smooth mixing.
  • Store leftover truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • For easier handling, chill the truffle balls before dipping to minimize melting.
