Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound lean ground turkey
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1 (15-ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 (15-ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 (15-ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add ground turkey and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
- Stir in onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Cook until vegetables are softened.
- Add tomato paste and stir for 1 minute.
- Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chicken broth, black beans, and kidney beans.
- Season with chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Adjust seasoning as needed and serve hot.
Notes
- For a spicier chili, add a chopped jalapeño or extra chili powder.
- Chili tastes even better the next day after flavors meld.
- Serve with toppings like avocado, cheese, sour cream, or cilantro.
