Description

This rich and decadent triple chocolate cherry cake is a chocolate lover’s dream! Moist chocolate cake is layered with dark chocolate, milk chocolate chips, and juicy cherries, then topped with a luscious chocolate ganache. Perfect for holidays, birthdays, or anytime you need a show-stopping dessert.


Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) devil’s food cake mix

  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

For the Ganache:

 

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips

  • 1 tbsp butter (optional, for shine)


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, vanilla, and cherry pie filling. Mix until well combined—batter will be thick.

  • Fold in milk and semi-sweet chocolate chips.

  • Pour batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.

  • Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  • While the cake is baking, prepare the ganache: heat heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it just begins to simmer (do not boil).

  • Remove from heat and pour over dark chocolate chips in a bowl. Let sit for 2–3 minutes, then stir until smooth. Stir in butter if using.

  • Once cake is baked and slightly cooled, pour ganache over the top and spread evenly.

 

  • Let cake cool completely before slicing and serving.


Notes

  • You can add a splash of cherry liqueur to the ganache for an adult twist.

  • For extra cherry flavor, top with fresh cherries or an additional spoonful of pie filling.

  • Store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
