Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar (for glaze)
  • 1/4 cup ketchup (for glaze)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, egg, onion, milk, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, ketchup, and mustard. Mix until well combined but do not overmix.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place in the prepared pan.
  4. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, ketchup, and apple cider vinegar for the glaze.
  5. Spread half of the glaze over the top of the meatloaf.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes, then remove and spread remaining glaze on top.
  7. Return to oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  8. Let meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure it reaches a safe internal temperature.
  • Leftovers make great meatloaf sandwiches the next day.
  • Can be frozen before or after baking for meal prep.
