Ingredients
Scale
Filling
- 227 g cream cheese, softened
- 113 g sour cream
- 2 tbsp taco seasoning
- 80 ml salsa (taco or picante sauce)
- 1-2 jalapenos, seeded and finely diced
- 170 g cheddar cheese, shredded
- 170 g cooked chicken, shredded
- 15 g cilantro, finely chopped
Wraps
- 6 flour tortillas, 20 cm (8 inch) diameter
Instructions
- Prepare the filling: In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, taco seasoning, salsa, finely diced jalapenos, shredded cheddar cheese, shredded cooked chicken, and chopped cilantro. Mix thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and homogeneous.
- Spread the filling: Lay one flour tortilla flat on a clean surface or plate. Evenly spread approximately 30 to 45 ml (2 to 3 tablespoons) of the filling over the entire surface of the tortilla.
- Roll the tortillas: Roll the tortilla tightly into a cylinder shape to encase the filling. Place the rolled tortilla on a plate. Repeat this procedure with the remaining tortillas and filling.
- Chill to firm up: Refrigerate the rolled tortillas for 2 hours. This helps the filling to firm up and allows the flavors to meld together nicely.
- Slice the roll-ups: Remove the chilled rolls from the refrigerator. Slice off the ends of each roll, then cut each roll into bite-sized pieces suitable for serving.
- Serve and garnish: Arrange the tortilla roll-up slices on a serving platter. Garnish with additional chopped cilantro if desired before serving.
Notes
- Use cooked chicken that is shredded finely for even distribution in the filling.
- Adjust jalapeño quantity to control the heat level of the roll ups.
- Make sure cream cheese is softened to blend smoothly with other ingredients.
- These roll ups can be prepared a day ahead and refrigerated to save time before serving.
- They pair well with salsa, guacamole, or sour cream dips on the side.
