Description

A creamy, cheesy stuffed mushroom dip perfect as a warm appetizer for parties or gatherings. This savory blend of sautéed mushrooms, garlic, cream cheese, and melted mozzarella and Parmesan is baked to bubbly perfection and served with crostini, crackers, pita chips, or sliced veggies.

Ingredients

Scale

Dip Base

  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions or parsley
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Sautéed Mushrooms

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 oz mushrooms (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

Toppings (Optional)

  • Extra Parmesan cheese
  • Extra herbs (green onions, parsley, or Italian seasoning)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F to prepare for baking the dip.
  2. Sauté Mushrooms: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the finely chopped mushrooms and cook for 5–7 minutes until they release moisture and start browning. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1–2 minutes to infuse flavor. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
  3. Mix Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, grated Parmesan, shredded mozzarella, chopped green onions or parsley, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and optional crushed red pepper flakes. Stir in the sautéed mushroom and garlic mixture until everything is well combined.
  4. Prepare for Baking: Transfer the combined mixture to a small baking dish or oven-safe skillet. Optionally, sprinkle extra Parmesan cheese and herbs on top for added flavor and texture.
  5. Bake the Dip: Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes or until the dip is hot, bubbly, and has a golden-brown top.
  6. Serve: Serve warm with your choice of crostini, crackers, pita chips, or fresh sliced vegetables for dipping.

Notes

  • Prepare the dip mixture in advance and refrigerate until ready to bake for convenience.
  • For added flavor and heartiness, mix in cooked sausage or bacon before baking.
  • Use baby bella or white mushrooms for the best texture and flavor.
