Ingredients
-
1 (14 oz) angel food cake, cut into 1-inch cubes
-
1 (21 oz) can strawberry pie filling
-
1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix

1 ½ cups cold milk

1 cup sour cream
-
1 (8 oz) container whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
-
Fresh strawberries, sliced (for garnish – optional)
Instructions
-
In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix, milk, and sour cream until smooth. Let it chill for 5 minutes to thicken.
-
In a 9×13-inch baking dish, spread half of the cubed angel food cake across the bottom.
-
Spoon half of the strawberry pie filling evenly over the cake layer.
-
Spread half of the pudding mixture over the strawberries.
-
Repeat the layers with the remaining cake cubes, pie filling, and pudding mixture.
-
Top with whipped topping and spread evenly.
-
If desired, garnish with fresh sliced strawberries.
-
Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (overnight is best) before serving.
Notes
-
You can substitute angel food cake with pound cake if preferred.
-
For a tangier flavor, use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
-
Try using other pie fillings like cherry or blueberry for variation.
