Description

A simple and classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and spaghetti, perfect for a quick and flavorful meal.


Ingredients

  • 400g spaghetti
  • 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 100ml extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, optional, for serving

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden and fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for another 30 seconds.
  5. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
  6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic oil mixture.
  7. If needed, add some reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce and coat the pasta evenly.
  8. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley and optional Parmesan cheese before serving.

Notes

  • Use high-quality olive oil for the best flavor.
  • Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your heat preference.
  • For a more authentic version, omit the Parmesan cheese.
