Indulge in the comforting flavors of the South with this rich and creamy Parmesan chicken pasta. Tender chicken smothered in a decadent Parmesan sauce, served over al dente pasta – a true soul-satisfying meal for any occasion.
Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
For the Parmesan Sauce:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Pasta:
- 1 pound fettuccine pasta
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Chicken: Season chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Make the Parmesan Sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Stir in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Gradually whisk in Parmesan cheese until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cook the Pasta: Meanwhile, cook fettuccine pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain pasta, reserving a cup of cooking water.
- Combine Everything: Slice the cooked chicken. Add the chicken and cooked pasta to the Parmesan sauce, tossing to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to thin it out.
- Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley and additional Parmesan cheese. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- This dish pairs well with a side of garlic bread and a crisp green salad.
- For extra flavor, you can add cooked bacon or sun-dried tomatoes to the pasta.
- Adjust the thickness of the sauce to your liking by adding more or less Parmesan cheese.
