Ingredients
-
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
-
1 cup Coca Cola (regular, not diet)
-
1 cup ketchup
-
1 packet onion soup mix (about 1 oz)
-
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional, for extra depth)
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
-
Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
-
In a medium bowl, mix together Coca Cola, ketchup, onion soup mix, and Worcestershire sauce (if using).
-
Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken.
-
Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
-
Once done, shred the chicken in the slow cooker and stir to coat it in the sauce, or serve whole with sauce spooned over the top.
-
Taste and season with salt and pepper if needed. Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or buns.
Notes
-
You can use chicken thighs instead of breasts for extra juiciness.
-
For a little spice, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a splash of hot sauce.
-
Leftovers store well in the fridge for up to 3 days and can be frozen for up to 3 months.
