Description
Shrimp Scampi is a classic Italian-American dish made with tender shrimp sautéed in a garlic butter and white wine sauce, served over pasta for a delicious and elegant meal.

- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8 oz linguine or spaghetti
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
- Add garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2–3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- Pour in white wine and lemon juice, scraping up any bits from the pan. Simmer for 2–3 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Return shrimp to the skillet and stir in remaining 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Add cooked pasta and toss to coat in the sauce.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan if desired.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Use chicken broth instead of white wine for a non-alcoholic version.
- Add extra lemon juice or zest for a brighter flavor.
- Adjust red pepper flakes to control the heat level.
