With a fluffy crust, savory sausage, creamy country gravy, and melty cheese, it’s a delicious and easy breakfast you can make at home. Perfect for weekends, meal prep, or feeding a crowd.
Ingredients
-
1 can refrigerated pizza crust dough (or homemade, about 13.8 oz)
-
1/2 pound breakfast sausage
-
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
-
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
-
1 1/4 cups prepared country gravy (store-bought or homemade)
-
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
-
Cooking spray or oil (for baking sheet)
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
-
Roll out the pizza crust on the baking sheet into a rectangle, pressing it out to the edges.
-
Bake crust for about 7–8 minutes until it’s just starting to set but not browned.
-
Cook sausage in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it up as it browns. Drain excess fat.
-
Spread the gravy evenly over the par-baked crust.
-
Top with sausage, then sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheeses on top. Add a pinch of black pepper.
-
Bake for another 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
-
Let cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
-
You can use crescent roll dough or a biscuit dough base if you prefer a softer crust.
-
Swap sausage for bacon or veggie crumbles for a different spin.
-
Want extra flavor? Add scrambled eggs or a dash of hot sauce before baking.
