Description

A hearty and comforting one-pan dish made with savory sausage, tender cabbage, and flavorful seasonings, perfect for a quick and easy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
  • 1 medium head green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth or water

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and cook until translucent, about 3 minutes.
  4. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
  5. Add chopped cabbage, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  6. Pour in chicken broth or water, cover, and cook for about 10-12 minutes until cabbage is tender.
  7. Return the sausage to the skillet, stir to combine, and cook for another 3-5 minutes until everything is heated through.
  8. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Use turkey or chicken sausage for a lighter version.
  • Adjust the seasonings to your taste – a dash of red pepper flakes can add a nice kick.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
