A hearty and comforting one-pan dish made with savory sausage, tender cabbage, and flavorful seasonings, perfect for a quick and easy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
- 1 medium head green cabbage, chopped
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup chicken broth or water
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and cook until translucent, about 3 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
- Add chopped cabbage, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Pour in chicken broth or water, cover, and cook for about 10-12 minutes until cabbage is tender.
- Return the sausage to the skillet, stir to combine, and cook for another 3-5 minutes until everything is heated through.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Use turkey or chicken sausage for a lighter version.
- Adjust the seasonings to your taste – a dash of red pepper flakes can add a nice kick.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
