Description

Salmon Croquettes are crispy, golden-fried patties made with flaked salmon, herbs, and seasonings—perfect as an appetizer or a light main dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 can (14.75 oz) pink salmon, drained and flaked
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine salmon, breadcrumbs, onion, bell pepper, egg, mayonnaise, mustard, garlic powder, pepper, salt, lemon juice, and parsley.
  2. Mix until all ingredients are evenly incorporated and the mixture holds together.
  3. Form into 6–8 patties and place on a plate.
  4. Chill patties in the refrigerator for 15–20 minutes to help them firm up.
  5. Heat about 1/4 inch of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Fry the croquettes in batches for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Drain on paper towels and serve warm with your favorite sauce or a squeeze of lemon.

Notes

  • You can substitute fresh cooked salmon for canned if preferred.
  • For a healthier option, bake or air fry instead of pan frying.
  • Serve with tartar sauce, aioli, or a simple yogurt dip.
