A festive twist on the classic Caprese salad, featuring red tomatoes, white mozzarella, and blueberries for a patriotic flair. Perfect for summer gatherings and Fourth of July celebrations.
Ingredients
- 1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes, halved
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini), halved
- 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
- 2 tbsp balsamic glaze
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine halved tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and blueberries.
- Tear the basil leaves and add them to the bowl.
- Drizzle with olive oil and gently toss to combine.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer to a serving platter and drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.
Notes
- Use heirloom cherry tomatoes for added color and flavor.
- Chill the salad before serving for best taste.
- You can substitute mozzarella pearls for bocconcini if preferred.
