- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, thyme, and parsley on both sides.
- In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
- Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and stir, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the skillet.
- Add the lemon juice (optional) and return the chicken to the skillet. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Serve the chicken with the garlic butter sauce poured over the top.
Notes
- This recipe can be served with rice, mashed potatoes, or vegetables for a complete meal.
- For extra flavor, you can add a splash of white wine to the sauce.
- Make sure not to overcook the chicken, as it will become dry.
