Scale
For the Lemonade
- 5 lemons, juiced
- 1/3 cup honey (or other vegan honey substitute)
- 1 cup water
- 1 1/2 cup pomegranate arils (seeds) or 1 cup pomegranate juice
- 3-4 cups water or sparkling water
For Serving (Optional)
- Lemon slices
- Ice cubes
- Pomegranate arils
Instructions
- Blend the Base: Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice, honey, 1 cup of water, and the pomegranate seeds to a blender. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and the seeds are broken down.
- Strain the Mixture: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a jug or pitcher to remove the tough pomegranate seed bits and achieve a smooth lemonade base.
- Dilute and Mix: Add the remaining 3-4 cups of still or sparkling water to the strained lemonade to taste. Stir thoroughly to combine the flavors evenly.
- Serve: Pour the pomegranate lemonade into glasses filled with ice, garnished with lemon slices and extra pomegranate arils if desired, for a colorful and refreshing presentation.
Notes
- Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of honey or using a vegan sweetener alternative.
- Using sparkling water instead of still water adds a delightful fizz to the drink.
- For a smoother texture, you can skip straining but expect some seed pulp in the drink.
- This recipe can be made ahead and chilled for convenience.
- Use freshly squeezed lemon juice for the best flavor impact.
