Ingredients
Scale
Pie Crust
- 1 9-inch pie crust, (homemade or storebought, baked and cooled)
Filling
- 1 cup (238 g) heavy whipping cream
- ¼ cup (31 g) confectioner’s sugar
- 2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, (softened)
- ½ cup (100 g) light brown sugar, (packed)
- ¼ cup (79 g) pure maple syrup
- 1 ½ cups (163.5 g) pecans, (finely chopped, divided)
Topping
- 8 ounces whipped cream
Instructions
- Mix heavy whipping cream and confectioners’ sugar: In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream and confectioner’s sugar. Using a hand mixer on medium speed, whip the mixture until stiff peaks form. Set the whipped cream aside for later use.
- Beat cream cheese with brown sugar and maple syrup: In another large bowl, add softened cream cheese, light brown sugar, and pure maple syrup. Beat with a hand mixer on medium speed until the mixture is fully combined and smooth.
- Fold in whipped cream: Gently fold the whipped heavy cream mixture into the cream cheese mixture. Incorporate carefully to maintain the light and airy texture without deflating the whipped cream.
- Fold in pecans: Add 1 cup of the finely chopped pecans into the combined cream filling and fold gently to mix evenly.
- Scoop mixture into pie crust: Pour and spread the pecan cream filling evenly into the cooled pie crust. Smooth the top gently with a spatula.
- Chill the pie: Place the pie in the refrigerator to chill for at least 4 hours to set the filling properly. For best results, chill overnight.
- Top with whipped cream: Once chilled, spread an even layer of whipped cream over the top of the pie.
- Garnish with pecans: Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of chopped pecans evenly over the whipped cream topping before serving.
Notes
- This pie requires at least 4 hours of chilling, but overnight chilling will improve its texture and flavor.
- Ensure the pie crust is baked and fully cooled before adding the filling to avoid a soggy crust.
- Use finely chopped pecans to evenly distribute nuts throughout the filling and on top.
- If you prefer a sweeter filling, adjust the amount of brown sugar or maple syrup to taste.
- For a dairy-free alternative, substitute cream cheese and heavy cream with suitable vegan options.
