Description

Panda Express String Bean Chicken is a delicious stir-fry dish featuring tender chicken breast, crisp string beans, and onions in a savory garlic ginger soy sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, sliced thinly
  • 2 cups string beans, trimmed
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water (for slurry)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and white pepper to create the sauce.
  2. In another bowl, make a cornstarch slurry by mixing cornstarch with water and set aside.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the sliced chicken and stir-fry until it’s browned and nearly cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  5. Add the remaining oil to the pan, then sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  6. Add the string beans and onion, stir-frying for 3-4 minutes until they are slightly tender but still crisp.
  7. Return the chicken to the pan and pour in the sauce. Stir to coat evenly.
  8. Add the cornstarch slurry and stir until the sauce thickens.
  9. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, ensuring everything is well combined and heated through.
  10. Serve hot with steamed rice.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in a bit of soy sauce and cornstarch before cooking.
  • Fresh string beans give the best texture but frozen can be used in a pinch.
  • You can substitute chicken thigh for a juicier alternative.
