Description
A delicious copycat recipe of Panda Express’ Mushroom Chicken featuring tender chicken, fresh mushrooms, and a savory sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix the chicken broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, cornstarch, and water. Set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken slices and cook until golden and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until tender, about 3-4 minutes.
- Return the chicken to the pan, then pour in the prepared sauce mixture. Stir to combine and coat the chicken and mushrooms evenly.
- Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles. Enjoy!
Notes
- You can adjust the sauce consistency by adding more water if needed.
- If you like more spice, you can add red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the sauce mixture.
- For a richer flavor, try using a combination of shiitake and button mushrooms.
