Description

Juicy and flavorful turkey breast roasted to golden perfection in the oven—an ideal centerpiece for holidays or family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 (4–5 lb) bone‑in turkey breast
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • ½ tsp dried rosemary
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary (optional)
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme (optional)
  • ¼ cup chicken broth or water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels.
  3. Rub the olive oil all over the turkey breast.
  4. In a small bowl, combine salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, dried rosemary, and paprika; rub evenly over the turkey.
  5. Place turkey breast on a rack in a roasting pan. Tuck fresh rosemary and thyme around the breast if using.
  6. Pour chicken broth or water into the bottom of the pan to keep meat moist.
  7. Roast in preheated oven for about 20 minutes per pound, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) in the thickest part.
  8. About halfway through baking, baste turkey with pan juices.
  9. Once done, remove turkey from oven, tent with foil, and rest for 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer for best results.
  • Letting it rest ensures juiciness.
  • You can substitute fresh herbs for dried for a brighter flavor.
  • Pan drippings are great for gravy.
