Description

This One-Skillet Kielbasa and Potatoes recipe is a hearty, flavorful dish perfect for a quick and satisfying weeknight dinner. Smoked kielbasa is pan-seared to a crisp and combined with tender golden potatoes, sautéed onions, bell peppers, and aromatic garlic. Enhanced with smoked paprika and finished with fresh parsley, this easy skillet meal requires minimal cleanup and delivers big on taste.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 14 ounces smoked kielbasa, sliced into rounds
  • 1 pound baby potatoes or Yukon gold potatoes, quartered or diced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper (any color), chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat the skillet: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat to prepare for sautéing the ingredients.
  2. Brown the kielbasa: Add the sliced kielbasa to the skillet and cook for 4–5 minutes until browned and slightly crisp. Remove the kielbasa from the skillet and set aside to prevent overcooking.
  3. Cook the potatoes: In the same skillet, add the quartered or diced potatoes. Cook them for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and mostly tender.
  4. Sauté onion and bell pepper: Add the chopped onion and bell pepper to the skillet with the potatoes. Cook for another 5 minutes until the vegetables are softened and fragrant.
  5. Add garlic and seasoning: Stir in the minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook everything together for about 1 minute to release the garlic’s aroma and blend the flavors.
  6. Combine kielbasa and finish cooking: Return the browned kielbasa to the skillet. Stir everything together and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until the kielbasa is reheated and the potatoes are fully tender.
  7. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the skillet dish and serve hot for a delicious, comforting meal.

Notes

  • For extra crisp potatoes, partially boil them before adding to the skillet.
  • Add chopped spinach or zucchini in the last few minutes of cooking for extra vegetables.
