- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tbsp lemon zest

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour melted butter into a 9×9 inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Add milk, lemon zest, and lemon juice to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter in the baking dish. Do not stir.
- Gently pour the boiling water over the batter. Again, do not stir—it’s part of the magic!
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden and a cobbler-like layer has formed.
- Let cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve warm.
Notes
- Do not mix after adding water—this helps the cobbler form its unique texture.
- Use fresh lemon juice for the best tangy flavor.
- Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated gently.
