Description

This Kafta Kebabs recipe features a delicious blend of lean ground beef, fresh parsley, and aromatic spices, molded onto skewers and grilled to perfection. Perfectly seasoned and juicy, these Middle Eastern-inspired kebabs make an excellent main dish for any gathering or weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 medium yellow onion, quartered
  • 1 cup fresh parsley, washed and patted dry
  • 600 grams lean ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon seven spice pre-mixed spice blend
  • â…› teaspoon cayenne pepper, more to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Onion and Parsley: In the bowl of a food processor, add the quartered onion and fresh parsley. Pulse the ingredients until they are finely chopped, creating a fragrant base for the kebabs.
  2. Mix the Ingredients: Transfer the chopped onion and parsley to a large mixing bowl. Add the ground beef along with salt, black pepper, seven spice blend, and cayenne pepper. Using your hands, mix everything thoroughly to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.
  3. Form the Kebabs: Take portions of the meat mixture and mold them around skewers, making the meat about an inch to an inch and a half thick. Ensure they are firmly packed to hold their shape during grilling.
  4. Grill the Kebabs: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for approximately 4 minutes on each side, or until the meat is fully cooked and has a nice char.
  5. Serve: Remove the kebabs from the grill and serve immediately while hot for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Make sure to pat the parsley dry thoroughly to avoid excess moisture in the mixture.
  • If you don’t have seven spice blend, a mix of allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and black pepper can be used as a substitute.
  • Use skewers soaked in water for at least 30 minutes if using wooden skewers to prevent burning.
  • These kebabs can also be cooked on a stovetop grill pan if an outdoor grill is not available.
  • Adjust the cayenne pepper according to your preferred spice level.
