Description
These Juicy Teriyaki Parmesan Burgers with American Cheese combine savory ground beef with a sweet teriyaki glaze, Parmesan cheese, and garlic, topped with melty American cheese and fresh toppings for a flavorful fusion twist on a classic burger.
Ingredients
Scale
Burger Mixture
- 1 ½ pounds ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)
- ¼ cup teriyaki sauce (plus extra for brushing)
- â…“ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Toppings and Serving
- 4 slices American cheese
- 4 burger buns (toasted)
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Pickles
- Mayo (optional)
Instructions
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ¼ cup teriyaki sauce, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix gently until all ingredients are just combined, taking care not to overwork the meat to maintain tenderness.
- Shape Patties: Divide the mixture evenly into 4 portions and shape each into patties slightly wider than your burger buns to allow for shrinkage during cooking.
- Cook Patties: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties on the heat and cook for 4–5 minutes per side. During the last minute of cooking, brush each patty lightly with additional teriyaki sauce to enhance flavor and glaze.
- Melt Cheese: Place a slice of American cheese on top of each cooked patty, then cover briefly with a lid or foil to melt the cheese through, creating a gooey cheesy topping.
- Toast Buns and Assemble: Toast your burger buns if desired. Assemble each burger by layering lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, and mayo or your favorite condiments, then add the cheese-covered patty and top with the bun. Serve immediately while hot and juicy.
Notes
- Do not overmix the ground beef mixture to keep burgers tender and juicy.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option; reduce cooking time slightly to avoid drying out.
- Adding pineapple slices offers a delicious tropical twist and complements the teriyaki flavor.
