Description

Iowa Party Bites are a crowd-pleasing appetizer made with crescent dough, seasoned ground beef, cheese, and pickles, capturing the flavors of a classic Midwestern cheeseburger in bite-sized form.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped dill pickles
  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Add shredded cheddar cheese and chopped pickles to the beef mixture and stir to combine.
  5. Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles. Place a spoonful of beef mixture on each triangle and roll up.
  6. Place rolls on the baking sheet, brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Use pepper jack cheese for a spicy twist.
  • Serve with ketchup, mustard, or ranch dipping sauce.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated in the oven.
