Description

This rich and velvety hot fudge sauce is the perfect topping for ice cream, brownies, or any dessert that needs a chocolatey boost. It’s made with simple ingredients and comes together in minutes on the stovetop. Thick, smooth, and deeply chocolatey — once you try it homemade, you’ll never go back to store-bought.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar (light or dark)

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

 

  • Pinch of salt


Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, butter, brown sugar, and cocoa powder.

  • Stir constantly until the butter is melted and the mixture begins to bubble, about 3–5 minutes.

  • Reduce the heat to low, add the chocolate chips, and stir until completely melted and smooth.

  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.

  • Let cool slightly before serving. The sauce will thicken as it cools.

 

  • Store leftovers in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Reheat gently before serving.


Notes

  • For a thicker sauce, simmer a bit longer before removing from heat.

  • You can use dark chocolate chips for a deeper chocolate flavor.

  • Great as a gift! Pour into jars and tie with a ribbon.
