A zesty and flavorful homemade Italian dressing made with simple pantry ingredients. Perfect for salads, marinades, or as a dipping sauce.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 teaspoon honey or sugar (optional, for sweetness)
Instructions
- In a bowl or jar, combine olive oil, white wine vinegar, water, and lemon juice.
- Add Dijon mustard and minced garlic, and whisk or shake well.
- Mix in oregano, basil, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
- Optional: add honey or sugar for a touch of sweetness.
- Whisk or shake again until the dressing is well combined and emulsified.
- Use immediately or refrigerate in a sealed container for up to 1 week. Shake well before each use.
