- 1 1/2 cups brown rice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 pounds ground turkey
- 3 cups baby spinach, chopped
- 2 carrots, shredded
- 1 zucchini, shredded
- 1/2 cup peas, canned or frozen
- 4 cups water or low-sodium chicken broth
Instructions
- Cook the brown rice according to package instructions; set aside.
- In a large stockpot or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground turkey and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes, making sure to crumble the turkey as it cooks.
- Stir in spinach, carrots, zucchini, peas, and cooked rice.
- Add water or chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until the vegetables are tender and the mixture is heated through, about 10-15 minutes.
- Allow to cool completely before serving to your dog. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze portions for later use.
