Description

A classic Mexican dip made from ripe avocados, lime juice, and flavorful seasonings. Perfect for chips, tacos, and more.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 roma tomatoes, diced
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 pinch ground cayenne pepper (optional)


Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  2. Mash the avocado with a fork or potato masher to your desired texture.
  3. Add lime juice and salt, and mix well.
  4. Stir in the diced onion, chopped cilantro, tomatoes, and garlic.
  5. Add cayenne pepper if using, and mix until combined.
  6. Serve immediately or refrigerate with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface to prevent browning.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a dash of cumin or a finely chopped jalapeño.
  • Best consumed fresh, but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
  • Use ripe avocados for the best texture and flavor.
