Description
A classic Mexican dip made from ripe avocados, lime juice, and flavorful seasonings. Perfect for chips, tacos, and more.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe avocados
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
- 2 roma tomatoes, diced
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 pinch ground cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
- Mash the avocado with a fork or potato masher to your desired texture.
- Add lime juice and salt, and mix well.
- Stir in the diced onion, chopped cilantro, tomatoes, and garlic.
- Add cayenne pepper if using, and mix until combined.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface to prevent browning.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a dash of cumin or a finely chopped jalapeño.
- Best consumed fresh, but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
- Use ripe avocados for the best texture and flavor.
