Description
Classic ground beef tacos made with seasoned beef, served in crispy taco shells and topped with fresh vegetables and cheese.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 8 crispy taco shells
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/4 cup sour cream (optional)
- 1 lime, cut into wedges
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
- Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Pour in tomato sauce and stir to combine. Simmer for 5 minutes to blend flavors.
- Warm taco shells according to package instructions.
- Spoon the seasoned beef into each taco shell.
- Top with lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, cilantro, and a dollop of sour cream if using.
- Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
Notes
- Customize toppings with avocado, jalapeños, or pickled onions.
- Use ground turkey or chicken as an alternative to beef.
- Double the batch for easy meal prep or freezing.
