Description

Grilled watermelon is a unique and refreshing twist on a summer favorite, bringing out the fruit’s natural sweetness with a touch of smoky flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 small seedless watermelon, cut into 1-inch thick wedges
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
  2. Brush watermelon wedges with olive oil on both sides.
  3. Sprinkle with sea salt and black pepper.
  4. Place watermelon wedges on the grill and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until grill marks appear.
  5. Remove from grill and drizzle with lime juice if using.
  6. Garnish with chopped mint and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Grilled watermelon pairs well with feta cheese or balsamic glaze for added flavor.
  • Do not overcook the watermelon to maintain its texture.
  • Perfect as a side dish or light dessert at summer BBQs.
