Description

These Garlic Parmesan Chicken Skewers are a flavorful and easy-to-make appetizer or main dish. Tender chicken tenders are seasoned with a blend of spices, skewered, and air fried to crispy perfection. They are basted with a rich, garlicky parmesan butter sauce and finished with fresh parsley for a deliciously savory bite-sized treat that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Skewers

  • 1 lb chicken tenders, cut into 3-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Wooden skewers, soaked in water for at least 30 minutes

Garlic Parmesan Sauce

  • 1 stick butter (8 tablespoons)
  • 8-10 cloves garlic, minced
  • Grated parmesan cheese, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Additional grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Soak Skewers: Begin by soaking the wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent them from burning during cooking.
  2. Season Chicken: In a large bowl, combine chicken tender pieces with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Toss well to evenly coat all pieces with the spice blend.
  3. Skewer Chicken: Thread the seasoned chicken pieces tightly onto the soaked wooden skewers to ensure they cook evenly.
  4. Prepare Garlic Parmesan Sauce: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant but not browned, about 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in grated parmesan cheese and hot sauce until well combined.
  5. Air Fry Chicken Skewers: Place the chicken skewers in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 400°F (204°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through. During cooking, baste the chicken several times with the garlic parmesan sauce to build flavor and encourage a crispy exterior.
  6. Finishing Touches: Once the chicken is cooked through and crispy, remove from the air fryer. Give the skewers a final generous basting of the garlic parmesan sauce, sprinkle with extra parmesan cheese and chopped fresh parsley for garnish. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Soaking the wooden skewers prevents them from burning during air frying.
  • Adjust the amount of hot sauce to your preferred spice level.
  • Make sure chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for safe consumption.
  • You can substitute chicken thighs for tenders if you prefer a juicier option.
  • Serve with a side of ranch or blue cheese dressing for extra dipping flavor.
