Description
FROG Jam is a sweet and tangy homemade preserve made with figs, raspberries, oranges, and ginger. This delightful spread is perfect on toast, biscuits, or as a unique addition to cheese boards.

- 2 cups chopped fresh or dried figs
- 1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries
- 1/2 cup peeled and chopped orange (or 1/4 cup orange juice)
- 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 1 package (1.75 oz) fruit pectin (like Sure-Jell)
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine figs, raspberries, orange, ginger, lemon juice, and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Stir in pectin and bring to a boil, stirring frequently.
- Add sugar all at once and stir to dissolve. Return to a full rolling boil and boil for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and skim off any foam.
- Ladle the hot jam into sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace. Wipe rims and seal with lids.
- Process in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes or allow to cool and refrigerate for up to 3 weeks if not canning.
Notes
- FROG stands for Figs, Raspberries, Oranges, and Ginger.
- Use dried figs if fresh are not available; rehydrate in warm water before chopping.
- This jam pairs wonderfully with goat cheese, brie, or cream cheese.
- For a smoother texture, blend the fruit mixture before adding pectin.
