Description
These Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches are a crispy, golden twist on classic cheesecake. Creamy, sweet, and stuffed with fresh strawberries, they’re fried to perfection and finished with a dusting of powdered sugar. It’s like cheesecake and French toast had a delicious baby.
Ingredients
-
8 slices of white sandwich bread (crusts removed)
-
8 oz cream cheese, softened
-
1/4 cup granulated sugar
-
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
-
1 cup fresh strawberries, diced
-
2 eggs
-
1/4 cup milk
-
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
-
2 tbsp powdered sugar (for dusting)
-
Butter or oil for frying
Instructions
-
In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
-
Gently fold in the diced strawberries.
-
Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin. Spread a spoonful of the cheesecake mixture on one slice, then top with another to make a sandwich. Press the edges to seal.
-
In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and cinnamon.
-
Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides.
-
Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt a bit of butter or oil.
-
Fry the sandwiches for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
-
Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels.
-
Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
-
For extra flavor, add a touch of lemon zest to the cream cheese mix.
-
Try swapping strawberries for raspberries or blueberries.
-
Best served warm, but leftovers can be reheated in a toaster oven.
