Description

A savory and comforting side dish made with rice, French onion soup, and buttery flavors, perfect to pair with meats or enjoy on its own.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can French onion soup
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can beef broth
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium baking dish, combine rice, French onion soup, and beef broth.
  3. Add melted butter and garlic powder (if using), then stir to combine.
  4. Cover the dish tightly with foil.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  6. Remove from oven, fluff with a fork, and season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.

Notes

  • You can top with shredded cheese in the last 10 minutes of baking for a cheesy version.
  • For a vegetarian version, use vegetable broth and vegetarian onion soup.
  • This dish can be made ahead and reheated easily.
