Ingredients
Scale
Dry Ingredients
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 6 cups mini marshmallows, divided
- Pinch of salt (optional)
Wet Ingredients
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 7.5 ounce container of Marshmallow Fluff
Instructions
- Prep the Pan: Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, ensuring there is an overhang on the sides for easy removal later. Lightly grease the parchment with nonstick spray to prevent sticking and set it aside.
- Mix Rice Krispies: Place the 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal into a large mixing bowl, ready to combine with the marshmallow mixture.
- Prepare Peanut Butter Marshmallow Mixture: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Add 4 cups of the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until fully melted and smooth. Remove the saucepan from heat and quickly stir in 1 cup creamy peanut butter and a pinch of salt if desired, mixing until well combined. Immediately pour this warm mixture over the Rice Krispies in the large bowl. Add the remaining 2 cups of mini marshmallows and the entire 7.5 ounce container of Marshmallow Fluff. Gently fold everything together until the cereal is evenly coated and sticky.
- Set: Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking pan. Using a spatula or lightly buttered hands, press the mixture firmly and evenly into the pan to help it set properly.
- Slice and Serve: Allow the treats to set at room temperature for about 15 minutes until firm. Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the dessert from the pan and place on a cutting board. Cut into 12 equal-sized bars and enjoy these delicious Fluffernutter treats.
Notes
- Be sure to press the mixture firmly into the pan to ensure the treats hold together well when cut.
- If the mixture is too sticky to handle, lightly butter your hands or spatula to prevent sticking.
- You can store these treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days for optimal freshness.
- For a nut-free version, omit the peanut butter and replace with sunflower seed butter.
- Use parchment paper with overhang for easy removal; this prevents breaking while slicing.
