Description

This easy and flavorful Feta Skillet Bread combines flaky buttermilk biscuits with buttery Greek seasoning and tangy feta cheese, baked directly in a cast iron skillet for a crispy, golden crust and melty, savory interior. Perfect as an appetizer or side dish, it’s ready in just 20 minutes and serves six.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 (12-oz) can flaky buttermilk biscuits (Grands Jr. 10-count)
  • 5 Tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp Greek seasoning
  • ¼ cup crumbled feta cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350ºF (175ºC) to prepare for baking the skillet bread.
  2. Melt Butter and Combine Ingredients: Place the 8-inch cast iron skillet over medium heat on the stovetop and melt the butter. Once melted, stir in the Greek seasoning and crumbled feta cheese until well combined and aromatic.
  3. Prepare Biscuits: Cut each biscuit into quarters to create bite-sized pieces, then add them to the skillet, tossing gently to coat in the buttery seasoning and cheese mixture.
  4. Bake: Carefully transfer the entire skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until the biscuit pieces are golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Serve: Remove the skillet from the oven and slide the bread onto a serving platter. Serve warm for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use a well-seasoned cast iron skillet for even heating and to prevent sticking.
  • You can substitute Greek seasoning with a mix of dried oregano, garlic powder, and thyme if unavailable.
  • For a crispier crust, slightly increase the baking time but monitor closely to avoid burning.
  • This recipe can be doubled using a larger skillet or baked in two pans.
  • Serve with dips such as tzatziki or hummus for a Mediterranean touch.
