This easy lasagna recipe is a comforting classic made with layers of rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and melted mozzarella. It’s perfect for family dinners and can be prepared ahead of time.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
- 9 lasagna noodles
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until browned. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
- Stir in marinara sauce, salt, pepper, and basil. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with egg until well combined.
- In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce. Top with 3 noodles, then layer with ricotta mixture, mozzarella, and Parmesan. Repeat layers, ending with sauce and cheese on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 20 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use no-boil noodles to save time.
- Make ahead and refrigerate overnight before baking.
- Substitute ground turkey for a leaner version.
