These easy glazed carrots are tender, sweet, and buttery—perfect as a quick side dish for any meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb carrots, peeled and sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- In a large skillet, combine carrots, butter, brown sugar, salt, pepper, and water.
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce heat to medium, cover, and cook for about 6-8 minutes or until carrots are tender.
- Remove the lid and continue cooking until the liquid is mostly evaporated and a glaze forms, about 2-3 more minutes.
- Stir well to coat the carrots evenly with the glaze and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg.
- You can substitute honey or maple syrup for brown sugar.
- Use baby carrots for a quicker prep time.
