Description

These easy glazed carrots are tender, sweet, and buttery—perfect as a quick side dish for any meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup water


Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, combine carrots, butter, brown sugar, salt, pepper, and water.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Reduce heat to medium, cover, and cook for about 6-8 minutes or until carrots are tender.
  4. Remove the lid and continue cooking until the liquid is mostly evaporated and a glaze forms, about 2-3 more minutes.
  5. Stir well to coat the carrots evenly with the glaze and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg.
  • You can substitute honey or maple syrup for brown sugar.
