Description

Easy Chicken Street Tacos are a simple and flavorful Mexican-inspired dish featuring tender, seasoned chicken wrapped in soft tortillas, perfect for a quick meal or casual gathering.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, boneless and skinless
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges
  • 1/2 cup salsa or pico de gallo
  • Optional: hot sauce, avocado, or sour cream


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Season chicken breasts with cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place chicken in the skillet and cook for 6-8 minutes per side until the chicken is fully cooked and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  4. Remove chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes, then slice into thin strips.
  5. Warm the corn tortillas in a separate pan or microwave for a few seconds.
  6. Assemble the tacos by placing sliced chicken on each tortilla.
  7. Top with chopped cilantro, diced onions, salsa or pico de gallo, and a squeeze of lime juice.
  8. Optionally, add hot sauce, avocado, or sour cream for extra flavor.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Feel free to add any toppings of your choice, such as jalapeños, shredded cheese, or lettuce.
