Description

These Easy Cheesy Breadsticks are a quick and delicious snack or side dish perfect for any occasion. Made with refrigerated pizza dough, garlic butter, and a blend of mozzarella and parmesan cheese, they bake up golden and cheesy in just minutes. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce for a crowd-pleasing appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 10 oz. can refrigerated pizza crust dough

Toppings & Flavorings

  • 1 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 Tbsp. dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 Tbsp. parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure proper browning and melting of the cheese.
  2. Prepare the Dough: Lay the refrigerated pizza dough out flat on a piece of parchment paper. Shape it into a rectangle roughly the size of your baking sheet for even baking.
  3. Flavor with Butter & Garlic: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter and minced garlic. Brush the mixture generously over the surface of the pizza dough to infuse a rich, garlicky flavor.
  4. Add Seasonings: Sprinkle salt, pepper, and dried basil evenly over the dough to add depth of flavor.
  5. Add the Cheese: Evenly sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheese over the surface of the dough for cheesy coverage.
  6. Cut the Breadsticks: Using a pizza cutter, slice the dough into long strips and then cut in half across to form breadstick shapes. Do not separate the dough at this point; the cuts will serve as guides during baking.
  7. Bake: Transfer the parchment paper with the dough onto your baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the cheese is melted and the edges turn golden brown.
  8. Separate and Serve: Once baked, separate the breadsticks along the pre-cut lines and serve warm. Optionally, pair with your favorite dipping sauce for added flavor.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can sprinkle some red pepper flakes or Italian seasoning along with the dried basil.
  • Use fresh garlic instead of minced garlic for a more robust taste.
  • The breadsticks are best enjoyed warm but can be reheated briefly in the oven to regain crispiness.
  • To make the breadsticks gluten free, substitute the pizza dough with a gluten-free alternative.
  • These breadsticks pair well with marinara sauce or garlic butter dip.
