Ingredients
Scale
Dough
- 10 oz. can refrigerated pizza crust dough
Toppings & Flavorings
- 1 Tbsp. melted butter
- 1 tsp. minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp. dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 Tbsp. parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure proper browning and melting of the cheese.
- Prepare the Dough: Lay the refrigerated pizza dough out flat on a piece of parchment paper. Shape it into a rectangle roughly the size of your baking sheet for even baking.
- Flavor with Butter & Garlic: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter and minced garlic. Brush the mixture generously over the surface of the pizza dough to infuse a rich, garlicky flavor.
- Add Seasonings: Sprinkle salt, pepper, and dried basil evenly over the dough to add depth of flavor.
- Add the Cheese: Evenly sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheese over the surface of the dough for cheesy coverage.
- Cut the Breadsticks: Using a pizza cutter, slice the dough into long strips and then cut in half across to form breadstick shapes. Do not separate the dough at this point; the cuts will serve as guides during baking.
- Bake: Transfer the parchment paper with the dough onto your baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the cheese is melted and the edges turn golden brown.
- Separate and Serve: Once baked, separate the breadsticks along the pre-cut lines and serve warm. Optionally, pair with your favorite dipping sauce for added flavor.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can sprinkle some red pepper flakes or Italian seasoning along with the dried basil.
- Use fresh garlic instead of minced garlic for a more robust taste.
- The breadsticks are best enjoyed warm but can be reheated briefly in the oven to regain crispiness.
- To make the breadsticks gluten free, substitute the pizza dough with a gluten-free alternative.
- These breadsticks pair well with marinara sauce or garlic butter dip.
