Ingredients
-
1 lb ground beef
-
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
-
1/4 cup milk
-
1 egg
-
1 small onion, finely chopped
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
2 cups beef broth
-
1 packet onion soup mix
-
2 tbsp flour
-
1 tbsp soy sauce
Instructions
-
In a bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is well combined.
-
Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1-2 inches in size.
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and brown them on all sides, cooking for about 5-7 minutes. Once browned, remove the meatballs and set aside.
-
In the same skillet, add the flour and stir for about 1 minute to form a roux.
-
Slowly add the beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps. Add the onion soup mix and soy sauce, stirring to combine.
-
Return the meatballs to the skillet and cover them with the gravy. Reduce the heat to low, and let the meatballs simmer in the gravy for 15-20 minutes, or until fully cooked through.
-
Serve the meatballs with mashed potatoes or your favorite side dish, and enjoy!
Notes
-
You can make this recipe ahead of time and reheat it for an easy dinner later.
-
Adjust the seasoning to your taste. Add more Worcestershire sauce for extra depth of flavor.
-
If you prefer a thicker gravy, let it simmer longer or add a little more flour.
