Description

These savory Salisbury steak meatballs are a perfect twist on a classic. Tender, juicy meatballs served with a rich, flavorful gravy make for a comforting and satisfying dinner. Easy to prepare and full of delicious flavor, they’re great for busy weeknights!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 1 egg

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 cups beef broth

  • 1 packet onion soup mix

  • 2 tbsp flour

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is well combined.

  • Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1-2 inches in size.

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and brown them on all sides, cooking for about 5-7 minutes. Once browned, remove the meatballs and set aside.

  • In the same skillet, add the flour and stir for about 1 minute to form a roux.

  • Slowly add the beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps. Add the onion soup mix and soy sauce, stirring to combine.

  • Return the meatballs to the skillet and cover them with the gravy. Reduce the heat to low, and let the meatballs simmer in the gravy for 15-20 minutes, or until fully cooked through.

  • Serve the meatballs with mashed potatoes or your favorite side dish, and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can make this recipe ahead of time and reheat it for an easy dinner later.

  • Adjust the seasoning to your taste. Add more Worcestershire sauce for extra depth of flavor.

  • If you prefer a thicker gravy, let it simmer longer or add a little more flour.
