Description

This homemade Crockpot Cinnamon Applesauce is naturally sweet, full of warm cinnamon flavor, and made with just a few ingredients. It’s the perfect side dish or snack and makes your home smell amazing while it cooks!

Ingredients

  • 10 medium apples (a mix of sweet and tart like Fuji, Gala, and Granny Smith), peeled, cored, and chopped

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (adjust to taste)

  • 1-2 tablespoons lemon juice (optional, helps preserve color)

  • 1-2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey (optional, for added sweetness)

Instructions

  • Add the chopped apples to the crockpot.

  • Pour in the water, then add cinnamon, lemon juice, and sweetener if using.

  • Stir everything together.

  • Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until apples are very soft.

  • Mash with a potato masher for a chunky texture or blend with an immersion blender for smooth applesauce.

  • Let cool slightly, then serve warm or refrigerate for later.

Notes

  • Use a mix of apple varieties for the best flavor.

  • Skip the sweetener if your apples are naturally sweet.

  • This freezes well! Store in airtight containers for up to 3 months.

  • Add a pinch of nutmeg or cloves for extra warmth.
