Ingredients
Scale
Salmon Bites
- 1 pound skinless salmon fillet, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari (optional)
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch or arrowroot powder (for extra crispiness)
Garnish (Optional)
- Chopped green onions
- Sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes to ensure even cooking and a crispy texture.
- Prepare the Salmon Bites: In a medium bowl, gently toss the salmon cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, soy sauce or tamari if using, and lemon juice. Then sprinkle the cornstarch or arrowroot powder over the salmon and toss lightly to coat the pieces evenly without breaking them.
- Arrange in the Basket: Place the coated salmon cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd them. If necessary, cook in batches to maintain crispiness and proper airflow.
- Air Fry the Salmon: Cook the salmon bites in the air fryer at 400°F for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time to promote even browning. The bites should be golden and crispy on the edges and cooked through.
- Serve and Garnish: Remove the salmon bites from the air fryer and garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot, either with your favorite dipping sauce, over rice, or as part of a fresh salad or bowl.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add a dash of cayenne pepper to the seasoning or serve with sriracha mayo dipping sauce.
- These salmon bites pair well with teriyaki or sweet chili sauces for different flavor profiles.
- To keep the bites gluten-free, use tamari instead of regular soy sauce.
- Cook in batches if your air fryer basket is small to avoid overcrowding and ensure crispiness.
