  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 2 large eggs
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine chicken pieces, buttermilk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well and let marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  2. Prepare a dredging station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.
  3. Remove chicken from marinade, shake off excess, and coat each piece first in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs. Press lightly to adhere.
  4. Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry chicken nuggets in batches for about 3–4 minutes or until golden brown and fully cooked.
  6. Drain on paper towels and let cool slightly before serving.
