- 8 oz (225 g) pasta (penne or fusilli)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (5 oz/140 g) tuna in oil, drained
- 1/3 cup basil pesto
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the drained tuna to the skillet and cook for 2 minutes, breaking it into smaller pieces.
- Stir in the pesto and heavy cream. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce is heated through and slightly thickened.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine until fully coated in the sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan and fresh basil if desired.

- Use whole wheat pasta for a healthier option.
- You can substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter version.
- Add steamed veggies like broccoli or peas for added nutrition.
